Who We Help

If your child is struggling, there’s a reason. We help families find it β€” and fix it.

πŸ“–

Below-Level Readers

Children who can read but don't read as well as classmates. Some make lots of mistakes, some read slowly with great effort. We help both.

⚠️

At-Risk Students

Students identified at risk by their teacher. Don't wait for retention or Special Ed recommendations β€” early help prevents falling further behind.

πŸ“‰

Poor Grades

If grades are poor, there's a reason. Often it's undiagnosed reading difficulty affecting every subject. We find the root cause and change the equation.

πŸ‘Ά

Early Learners Falling Behind

K-1 students who aren't catching on to reading β€” especially those who can't remember letter sounds or guess/memorize instead of sounding out.

😴

"Lazy" or "Unmotivated" Kids

If a child works hard and still can't succeed, they give up. They're not lazy β€” they need instruction that matches how they learn. Success motivates.

😰

Anxious Students

Frequent headaches, stomach aches, not wanting to go to school β€” anxiety about school is a common symptom of reading difficulty, not a character flaw.

🧠

Learning Differences

Children who process information differently need instruction that teaches differently. Orton-Gillingham programs are rarely offered in schools with sufficient intensity.

Special Education Students

Students in Special Ed often haven't had access to the specialized instruction they need. We provide Orton-Gillingham instruction with enough intensity to actually catch up.

Important:Β Students need at least 100 minutes of one-on-one tutoring per week for the instruction to be intense enough to stick. Group instruction dilutes effectiveness β€” a group of 2 needs ~4 hours/week, a group of 3 needs ~6 hours/week to match the same intensity.
