What Is the Screening?
Our free screening uses the Comprehensive Test of Phonological Processing (CTOPP) to measure the three critical phonological skills your child needs to become a proficient reader:
1. Phonemic Awareness — the ability to hear and manipulate individual sounds in spoken words.
2. Phonological Memory — the ability to hold sound-based information in short-term memory.
3. Rapid Naming — the speed at which your child can name familiar items, letters, or numbers.
A weakness in any one of these areas puts a child at risk for reading difficulty. This screening tells us exactly where your child stands — and whether our program is the right fit.
